Johann Christoph Apel was born the son of Christoph Apel (treasurer in Nebra). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on January 1, 1741; studied there from 1741 to 1743. He died as an alumne. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. |
