Christian Gottlob Albrecht was born the son of Johann Christoph Albrecht (teacher in Geithain). He enrolled at the Thomasschule in Leipzig on December 11, 1744; studied there from 1744 to 1749; and at Universität Leipzig from 1749. Although he attended the Thomasschule during J.S. Bach's tenure, it is not known if he actually studied with him. After his studies, he worked as flower maker in Leipzig. His elder brother, Johann Christoph Albrecht (1722-unknown) was also a Thomaner (1736-1744). |
