Founded: December 2004 - Horn, Lower Austria, Austria |
The coro.con.brio ("Chor mit Schwung" = "Choir with Swing") was founded in December 2004 by
Holger Kristen. The chamber choir currently includes around 30 ambitious singers from the Waldviertel and Weinviertel. About half of the men are former
Altenburger Sängerknaben. The choir should not consist of more than 35-40 members in the future. This ensures that the choir director knows each of his singers and can assess their voices well. The soul of the choir is the ensemble spirit that challenges every single singer. For example, solos are always filled from within their own ranks.
There are few stylistic restrictions. Everything that is good and fun is sung. Particular value is placed on maintaining a-cappella choral literature from the Renaissance to the 21st century. It is important to the ensemble to perform not only established composers but also works by (perhaps wrongly?) less well-known contemporaries. |
