The Chinese tenor, Yalun Zhang, studied at the Glinka State Conservatory in Russia and at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz in Austria (2019-2022). He is currently studying opera singing (soloist exam) with Professor Christiane Libor and Professor Stephan Klemm at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe.
Through collaboration with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Grazer Philharmoniker and Göttinger Barockorchester, Yalun Zhang was able to gain important experience. He has already sung roles such as Don Ottavio in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, Monsieur Vogelsang in W.A. Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor, Pygmalion in Suppé's Die schöne Galathée and the title role in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring. In the 2022-2023 season he appeared at the Oper Graz in La Traviata, Don Carlo and Il cappello di paglia di Firenze. In the 2023-2024 season he can be heard at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau as Tamino in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Jonathan in Saul, and Helmsman in Der fliegende Holländer. He currently lives in Dresden, Saxony. |
