The Rusian pianist, Natalia Zagalskaia, was born to a family of musicians and was already 4 years received her first piano lessons from her mother Tatiana Zagalskaia-Bron. In 1984 she began her musical education with Ljudmila Ljacker. From 1990 to 1996 she studied at the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory in the class of Professor Alexander Mndojants. At the Karlsruher Musikhochschule, she continued her studies from 1997 to 2001 with Professor Gunther Hauer and from 2001 to 2006, with Professor Dr. h.c. Kalle Randalu, with whom she worked as am assistant from 2003 to 2005. In 2006, she joined Professor Arbo Valdma at the Musikhochschule in Köln.
Natalia Zagalskaia won prizes at international competitions such as the Chopin Competition in Göttingen, 3rd Prize at International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Ettlingen, Germany (1998), Europe Yamaha Foundation Piano Competition (1999); Diploma at Bremen International Piano Competition (2001); 1st Prize at Cultur Fonds Baden e. V. Music Competition (2001); 3rd Prize at Lions Club Piano Competition (2002); 4th Prize at A.M.A. Calabria International Piano Competition in Italy (2003); 3rd Prize at Isidor Bajic Piano Memorial Competition in Serbia (2004); 3rd Prize at International Piano Competition "Zagreb 2004" (2004); 5th Prize at Concours Musical International de Montreal in Canada (2004); 4th Prize at Epinal International Piano Competition in France (2005); as well as Zlatko Grgosevic (Croatia) and and at Zagreb 2008 Award.
As a soloist, Natalia Zagalskaia has worked with conductors such as Olari Elts, Jacques Lacomb, Andrey Andreev, Dmitri Orlov, Alexander Wedernikov and Juri Alperten. She has performed with orchestras such as the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, the Russian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, the Vidin State Philharmonic Orchestra, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra "Mikhail Jora" of Bacau, Philharmonic Orchestra of Zagreb and Moscow's Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Concert tours have taken her to Russia, Bulgaria, France, Estonia, the United States, Serbia, Italy, Croatia and many cities in Germany. She has appeared at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, the House of Arts in Montreal, the Centre Saint-Georges on in Montbeliard and Kitzinger Schloss. She also has already appeared at renowned music festivals such as the Mosel-Festwochen, the Music Festival of Tours, Cognito Piano Festival, a Klaviersommer Bad Bertrich and the International Piano Festival in Bad Herrenalb. Her Repertoire: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century, jazz, background music, salon music.
Natalia Zagalskaia has produced numerous recordings for radio and television. Her first CD with piano music by Schubert and Martin was released in 2002. Her second CD with piano music by Frédéric Chopin, Camille Saint-Saëns, Felix Mendelssohn was released in 2007. |
