The Turkish-German pianist and composer, Kemal Cem Yılmaz, started playing piano when he was 8 years old, he passed Hannover Advanced School of Music and Theater when he was 18and he graduated in 2005 from Professor Christopher Oakden's class. Receiving his education in music, theory and composition from Anton Plate, he completed his post graduate education in Detmold Advanced Music School with Alfredo Perl.
Kemal Cem Yılmaz was rewarded with first prize in 2002 in the National Piano Competition held in Eskişehir, played in Boğaziçi University and Sabancı University concert series with Akbank Chamber Orchestra leaded by Cem Mansur, and played as soloist in Kadıköy Municipality Filarmony Orchestra with Hakan Şensoy leading. He performed in many halls in Istanbul, in Izmir and Bursa and Eskişehir Music Festival. Outstanding music critics have praised the artist.
The work Kemal Cem Yılmaz has composed for string orchestra, church organ, percussion, clarinet, flute, and bağlama for the 700th year celebration of his hometown Langenhagen in 2012, was acclaimed by the people of Langenhagen.
In 2014-2015 season, Kemal Cem Yılmaz is going to perform as a soloist with Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra and MR Chamber Orchestra. He also has many resital and chamber music programs in many parts of Turkey. |
