The Russian pianist and composer, Igor Yakovenko [Iakovenko] (Ruisian: игорь яковенко), studied at the Department of Historical and Contemporary Performing Arts of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory after P. I. Tchaikovsky (class of Professor Yury Martynov, specialization - grand piano, harpsichord, hammerklavier; 2010- 2012); and obtainded Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Classical and jazz music from State Classical Academy named after Maimonides (former Moscow Jewish Academy) (class of Professor I. Bril, People’s Artist of Russia 2012- 2015). He took later Independent Coursework in Improvisation in New School (New York City).
Igor Yakovenko is a Moscow-based pianist and composer performing jazz as well as classical, avant-garde and popular music. His manner points at a profound classical background, and, as a jazz pianist, he makes the spontaneous material sound like in a program of Schubert or Johannes Brahms. |
