The Belgian cellist, conductor and music teacher, Bernard Woltèche, comes from a family of musicians. He initially studied law and then turned to music.
Bernard Woltèche began his apprenticeship in the family group. His experience extends from early music, including collaboration with Ricercar Academy, Paul Dombrecht Consort, Il Fondamento (Director: Paul Dombrecht), Cappella Amsterdam (Director: Daniel Reuss), Ricercar Consort (Director: Philippe Pierlot), Pastorella, Les Agrémens (Director: Guy Van Waas) ... to contemporary music, including concerts and recordings with the Ensemble Musique Nouvelle, with emphasis on small formations as well as vocal music.
Since 1994, Bernard Woltèche is the first cello in the ensemble Collegium ad Mosam, based in the Netherlands, which explores the vocal repertoire of the Baroque period. In May 2000, he toured Japan as part of the J.S. Bach Year. Since 1998, he is a lecturer in chamber music at the Conservatoire Royal de Musique de Bruxelles, in the chamber music class of Alain De Rijckere. In this institute he created the Studio de Musique Baroque, based on the interpretation of J.S. Bach's cantatas, which has already performed many concerts. The same ensemble was invited to perform in Graz (Austria) in October 2003 in a program of J.S. Bach's cantatas by Bach and George Frideric Handel's Messiah. |
