The English soprano, Lisa Wilson-Howarth, studied English Literature at Cambridge University and Voice ansd Opera at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (2006-2008), completing the Opera Course and obtaining her Master of Music degree in July 2008. In December 2009, she finished a year's vocal studio course at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice (CIAV) with Dennis O'Neill.
Since leaving CIAV, Lisa Wilson has sung many times with the Avison Ensemble and made a recording of George Frideric Handel and Avison's Rebellion Songs for Linn Records with The Avison Ensemble as well as a DVD of the Rebellion Songs for the new Avison Ensemble website.
Lisa Wilson is active as an opera singer since June 2009. She has sung at the English National Opera in London, Scottish Opera and Royal Opera House in London. Also she has covered Fiordiligi in W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan tutte for Opera North, sung Leila in The Georges Bizet's Pearl Fishers for Swansea City Opera, Vitellia in W.A. Mozart's La clemenza di Tito for Quintessential Opera and covered Countess in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro for Garsington Opera (May-June 2010). In 2010 she covered Marguerite in Charles Gounod's Faust for ENO (August-November 2010) and sang Portugal's Countess for Bampton Classical Opera. Other roles include workshops for Aldeburgh Jerwood Opera Writing Scheme with John Fulljames and The Opera Group, Marzellina in L.v. Beethoven's Fidelio cover for Garsington Opera, Fiordiligi W.A. Mozart's Cosi fan tutte for Lyric Opera Studio, Weimar, Governess Benjamin Britten's The Turn of the Screw Act II for Co-op Opera, Soprano in A Man of Feeling for Grimeborn festival, and the title role of Suor Angelica by Puccini for the New Beethoven Ensemble. Recent solo work also includes W.A. Mozart C Minor Mass Soprano II, Pangbourne, and G.F. Handel's Messiah at Worcester Cathedral. |
