The American baritone and music pedagogue, Timothy Wilds, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree from Covent College and his Master of Music degree with distinction in choral conducting and church music with additional studies in vocal pedagogy and performance from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, where he was a member of the acclaimed Westminster Choir under the direction of maestro Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt.
Timothy Wilds served as an adjunct instructor, choral conductor, church musician, worship arts director, music educator, director for stage productions (opera, operetta, and musical theatre), and voice teacher in community music schools, private schools, churches, colleges, and universities in Florida, Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Tennessee. He is a seasoned performer, having performed extensively in recital, concert, and on stage.
While working at a school in St. Louis, Missouri, Timothy Wilds received several honors for his work with high school musicians. He was awarded an Outstanding District Director Award for the St. Louis Metro District by the Missouri Choral Directors Association; a Merit Award by the St. Louis Metropolitan District Eight of the Missouri Music Educators Association; and his high school choir was invited to sing at the 2003 Missouri Music Educators Association annual convention.
Timothy Wilds currently serves as Worship Arts Program Director and Assistant Professor of Music at Montreat College. He teaches in the areas of choral music, vocal music, and worship arts, and serves as the Worship Arts Program Director. In addition, he is the Program Chair for the Montreat College Friends of Music Concert Series. He is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society, Delta Eta Chapter.
In addition to his work at Montreat, Timothy Wilds is a co-founder of Opera Creations, LLC; and is the founder-teacher of Soundings Studio for musical, choral, and vocal training, the three ensembles/choirs of the Soundings Choral Group (Middle School Ensemble, High School Choir, and Women’s Ensemble), and Soundings Studio Summer Camps (info@soundingsstudio.com). |
