Wiebke Wighradt (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Schleswig, Germany

The German mezzo-soprano, Wiebke Wighardt, made her first musical steps in the Landesjugendchor Schleswig-Holstein. She studied singing at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Professor Martha Sharp, and at the Royal College of Music in London with Elizabeth Robson.

Wiebke Wighardt developed ealy a great joy for the chorus and was a member in the Salzburger Bachchor, Royal College of Music Chamber Choir London, NDR Chor and Staatsopernchor unter den Linden and Solistenensemble Stimmkunst (Director: Kay Johannsen). Since 2008 she has been a freelancer with the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart and since 2012 she a permanent member there. As a soloist she was at the Biennale Salzburg, and could also be heard in the Münchner Residenzkonzerte, and at the Bodenseefestival and Salzburger Festspielen.
