The Dutch tenor, Jeljer te Wies, started as a boy soprano in the Roder Jongenskoor, where he was appointed a few years later as main soloist. He studied in the classroom and for training young talent at the Prins Claus Conservatorium. He also sang in the famous St Paul's Cathedral Choir London under the direction of John Scott. He won several prizes at the regional and national and was in finals of the Prinses Christina Concours and the Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland (Foundation for Young Music Talent Netherlands).
As a boy soprano has Jeljer te Wies released in 2004 a CD in 2004 with Lieder by Schubert and Robert Schumann, with which he has won several national and international awards. He has frequently performed as a soloist in operas, oratorios, cantatas and passions with conductors such as Ton Koopman, Jos van Veldhoven, Daan Admiraal, Rintje to Wies and Riccardo Chailly. In addition, he is connected as tenor with the Roder Jongenskoor, Luthers Bach Ensemble, Bach Choir of the Netherlands (20012-2013) and Ensemble La Silva.
Besides singing, Jeljer te Wies obtained in 2007 his Bachelor of Computer Science degree with specializations in Advanced Network Design and Extreme Software Development and he studied at the Conservatorium van Utrech. He currently lives in Groningen, the Netherlands. |
