The American tenor, Joshua Wheeker, graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, where he had performed in several productions. He was a Cincinnati Metropolitan Opera District Winner in 2013. He participates is a returning apprentice with Kentucky Opera. A finalist in several nationally known vocal competitions, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in opera.
Since graduating Joshua Wheeker has performed with companies including; Opera Iowa, Des Moines Metro Opera, Kentucky Opera, Dayton Opera, and Opera Theatre of St. Louis. He has performed the roles of; Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, School Master in Cunning Little Vixen, Carlson in Of Mice and Men, Howard Boucher in Dead Man Walking, and Nemorino in L’elisir D’amore. He has also worked with the Bach Society of Dayton, has been a soloist in productions of a W.A. Mozart's Missa Brevis and Haydn's Mass in Time of War, and has been chosen as the featured soloist in Puccini's Messa di Gloria. |
