The Japanese baritone, Akira Watanabe, studied at Tokyo Geijutsu Dagaku (Geidai, Tokyo University of the Arts), Department of Music. After his Bachelor and Master he went to Berlin with DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service)-scholarship and studied at The Berlin University of the Arts from 1968 to 1972.
Akira Watanabe is a Professor emeritus of Ferris University. He is a member and the vice-chairman of Japan Vocalists Forum. He is also a member of Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation. |
