The American mezzo-soprano, Audrey Walstrom, earned a Bachelor of Music degree Voice and a Bachelor of Arts in History cum laude from Rice University. She holds a Master's degree from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, where she is currently pursuing her doctoral studies with a cognate in Vocal Pedagogy. She is researching the historical context of animal imagery in French mélodie for her DMA document. She was a National Semi-Finalist in the 2011 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions after winning the Ohio District and Central Region rounds of the competition. She also studies Speech-language pathology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (2015-2017).
Audrey Walstrom has participated in summer festivals at Aspen, the Music Academy of the West, and the Santa Fe Opera. She has also performed with Cincinnati Opera (since 2008), Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Bach Society of Dayton, Vocal Arts Ensemble, and Dayton Opera and Santa Fe Opera (June 2009-August 2010).
Audrey Walstrom was Teaching Assistant in Voice Department at University of Cincinnati College - Conservatory of Music (2010-2012); Lecturer at Studio voice and Vocal Pedagogy at University of Louisvillel (2011-2012); Adjunct Instructor of Voice at Wittenberg University Music Department in Springfield, Ohio (2012-May 2015). Currentluy, she is Graduate Assistan at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. |
