The German mezzo-soprano and contralto, Anne Catherine Wagner, studied with Professor Thomas Heyer at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt.
In the 2008-2009 season Anne Catherine Wagner appeared at the Staatstheater Mainz in the title role in Gluck's La Semiramide riconosciuta. At the Thüringer Landestheater Rudolstadt she appeared as a guest as Zita in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini, and as a soloist in L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. At the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg she sang Marguerite in Boieldieu’s Die weiße Dame under the baton of Axel Köhler. In the 2009-2010 season she performed at various houses (Stadttheater Koblenz, Stadttheater Gießen, Hamburgischen Staatsoper) as the Third Lady in Zauberflöte, the mother in Hoffmanns Erzählungen, as angel in Das Paradies und die Peri by Robert Schumann, Olga in Drei Schwestern (Three sisters) by Péter Eötvös and as Disinganno in a staged version of Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno by George Frideric Handel. In the 2010-2011 season she appeared as a guest as Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Stadttheater Gießen and at the Deutschen Nationaltheater Weimar, and a Third Lady at the Gießener Stadttheater and the Wuppertaler Bühnen. In the current season 2011-2012, she has performed at the Theater der Stadt Koblenz as Third Lady (Zauberflöte) and mother (Hoffmanns Erzählungen).
In concert and oratorio Anne Catherine Wagner is alto soloist in demand in her homeland and abroad. She sang, among other things in the Limburger Dom, the Konstanzer Münster, the Freiburger Münster and in the Hauptkirche St. Jacobi in Hamburg. |
