Stefan Vock (Bass-Baritone)

Born: Switzerland

The Swiss The bass-baritone, Stefan Vock, began after the completion of a physics degree at the University of Basel, his vocal training with Kurt Widmer at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, where he has recently completed his soloist diploma with honours. He has also attended valuable in master- classes with Kurt Widmer and Professor Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. In 2000 he won the scholarship of Friedl Wald-Stiftung, and in 2001-2002 and 2002-2003, the study prize of Schweizerischen Migros-Genossenschaftsbundes. In 2004, he was a prize-winner of Basler-Orchester-Gesellschaft and won the 1st Prize of Elvira Lüthi-Wegmann-Stiftung.

The activity of the Stefan Vock focuses particularly on the areas of the sacred music and Lieder. He performes with with various piano partners, the Lieder of Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms and other composers.

Various radio recordings (Espace 2, DRS 2) and a Musiques Suisses recently released CD of Vespers by J.M. Gletle document his work as bass soloist.
