The Italian pianist, Marco Vincenzi, obtained a piano diploma from the Conservatory of Genoa with full marks and honours, winning an award for best diploma of the year. Later he studied with Maria Tipo at the Geneva Conservatory, winning the Prix de Virtuosite in 1986. The same year he obtained a diploma in composition as well as a University Arts degree, graduating will full marks and honours with a thesis on Dinu Lipatti (for which he also won a musicology award from the Bucharest Lipatti Foundation). After several national and international awards. he won first prize at the International Competitions of Stresa and of the Mozarteum Sommerakademie of Salzburg.
Marco Vincenzi has appeared in recitals and concerts with orchestra throughout Italy, in Austria, France, Germany, the UK, Holland, Romania and Switzerland, playing in some of the most prestigious European halls, such as: Teatro della Pergola of Florence, Carlo Felice of Genoa, Manzoni of Milan. Regio of Parma, Olimpico of Vicenza. Alte Oper of Frankfurt, Diligentia of Aja, Casino of Bern, Building of Congress of Lugano. He took part in an integral of Frédéric Chopin's piano works, five integrals of L.v. Beethoven's Sonatas and on the occasion of W.A. Mozart's bicentenary four integrals of his Sonatas and two of his Concertos (the last one of which for the 54th edition of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino). Recently he was a guest at the En blanc et moir radio programme of France Musique, broadcast live from Paris.
Marco Vincenzi six CD's are dedicated to: Lipatti's piano works; the Sonatas for violin and piano by Wolf-Ferrari and by Ferruccio Busoni, in duo with Cristiano Rossi; The Sonatas for violin and piano by Nino Rota, with Luigi Alberto Bianchi; Pizzetti's complete piano works; Vieuxtemps's Morceaux de salon, with Ruggiero Ricci. All of them appeared on the Dynamic label, and have been favourably reviewed by European and North-American music magazines.
Marco Vincenzi, moreover, collaborates, with articles and reviews, with the following magazines: Civiltà musicale, Il Giornale della Musica, Musica, Piano Time and Symphonia. He teaches piano at the Conservatory of Alessandria and is the director of the Empoli "Centro Studi Musicali Ferruccio Busoni". |
