The Danish tenor, Valdemar Villadsen, graduated from the soloist class of the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen in 2012. He has since established himself as an in-demand soloist throughout Europe.

Valdemar Villadsen made his operatic debut at the Royal Danish Opera in 2012 in a leading role in Possokhov's Narcissum. Recent opera appearances include Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Rossini Festival (Italy), Apollo in Cavalli's Gli amori d'Apollo e di Dafne at the Teatro Principal de Burgos (Spain), Young Officer in Zimmermann's opera Die Soldaten at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden (Germany), the narrator in an opera production of J.S. Bach's Coffee Cantata (BWV 211) with Concerto Copenhagen at the Copenhagen Opera Festival and the leading role in the world premiere of Fundal/Siegumfeldt's Bittersweet at the Royal Danish Opera.

As a concert singer, Valdemar Villadsen recently appeared in venues such as the Philharmonie Berlin with the Berlin Baroque, Royal Albert Hall (London) with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Queen Elisabeth Hall (London) with the Camerata, Royal Academy Hall (Denmark) with the Concerto Copenhagen, Heinrich Schütz Musikfest (Dresden) with the Ensemble Spielgarten, as well as in Orff's Carmina Burana with the Stavanger Symfoniorkester (Norway). Furthermore, he has performed acclaimed solo recitals in Rome, Paris, Basel, Froville Festival (France) and at the Bergen International Festival (Norway).

Valdemar Villadsen has appeared in numerous oratorios and masses, including as the Evangelist and tenor soloist in J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) in Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland and Germany (including in the Philharmonie Berlin), J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) with the Essener Barockorchester, J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor (BWV 232) with the Concerto Copenhagen, J.S. Bach's Magnificat (BWV 243) with the Bach-Ensemble Freiburg, J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) with the Copenhagen Cantata Choir, W.A. Mozart's Requiem with the RDAM Symphony Orchestra and George Frideric Handel's Messiah with the Accademic Orchestra. He also appears on the new CD recording of J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor (BWV 232) with the Concerto Copenhagen, conducted by Lars Ulrik Mortensen.

Valdemar Villadsen has worked with conductors such as Fabio Luisi, Giancarlo Andretta, Julius Rudel, Christian Vasquez, Alessandro Amoretti, Michael Schønwandt, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Paul Hillier, Andrew Lawrence-King, Carlos Mena, Javier Illan, Sirkka-Liisa Kaakinen-Pilch, Benjamin Bayl, Gerhard Oppelt, Giordano Bellincampi, Martin Nagashima Toft, Matthew Toogood, Christian Kluxen and with opera directors such as David McVicar, Dionysios Kyropoulos, Steven Player and Leah Hausman.

Future engagements include opera appearances at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Aarhus Summer Opera and the Royal Danish Opera.
