The Dutch violinist and violist, Laura Veeze, studied in Amsterdam with Lex Korff de Gidts and Alexander Kerr and in New York City with Sylvia Rosenberg at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music. After receiving her Masters Degree, she has studied with Boris Belkin. She has participated in master-classes with Rainer Kussmaul, Giuliano Carmignola and as a chamber musician she was coached by artists as Donald Weilerstein, Colin Carr, the Borodin Quartet, the Amadeus Quartet and the Florestan Trio.
Laura Veeze has performed throughout Europe as a soloist, recitalist and with chamber ensembles. During her studies in the Netherlands and New York City she performed many of the famous concerti with orchestra. She won the first prize in a national Lions Club competition and was a top-prize winner at the National Chamber Music competition with the piano trio, Ensemble Pavone, of which she is a founding member.
A versatile musician, and passionate about all aspects of music, Laura Veeze has performed in the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Holland Symfonia, Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic and European Union Chamber Orchestra. She attended Festivals such as the Holland Music Sessions and the Aspen Music Festival. As an orchestral musician, she has worked with conductors such as David Zinman, James Conlon, Edo de Waart, Peter Oundjian. Since 2007 she is principal second violin of the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic. She currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. |
