The American soprano, Maya Vansuch, is a senior in vocal performance, and a student of Alice Hopper at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. 2017 is her third year with University Gilbert & Sullivan Society (UGSS): previously she has sung Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance and costumed and performed in Ruddigore. At Jacobs, she actively performs new music as a member of NOTUS and in student-run performances. She has sung twice with the New Music Ensemble, singing the role of Eve in the new opera scenes concert, and singing the role of Juliet in scenes from Don Freund’s Romeo and Juliet. She has also sung The Queen of the Night in the Reimagining Opera for Kids production of W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute. She also has a love for costuming, having designed more than nine productions. She was Patience and the costume designer for the production of Patience (September-October 2017). |
