The Swiss organist, Livio Vanoni, graduated in organ and choir direction at the Zürich Conservatory in 1966, where he studied with the maestro Funk. He perfected himself with the maaestros Lionel Rogg, Karl Richter and Reichel, obtaining the diploma of concert artist with the maximum votes in 1973.
Livio Vanoni has held several concerts in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and France both as solo organ and harpsichordist in chamber formations. He teaches music at the Institute Magistrale di Locarno and the cantonal high schools. Since 1985 he has been an expert for music education in the middle schools of the canton Ticino. He has recorded radio, television and sound recordings (21 discs). He is also a member of the executive board of the Swiss commission for historical organs (Commissione svizzera per gli organi storici), of commissions of international juries of music competitions and state delegate for exams at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano.
Livio Vanoni works as organist, organ restorer and technician of sound for record productions. He is Director of the Coro parrocchiale di Bürglen (Uri), of the Corale di Arcegno and, for forty years of the Corale San Gottardo in Intragna. |
