The Belgian mezzo-soprano, Mieke Van Uytvanck, obtained her Master degree in Music Therapy with great distinction from the Lemmensinstituut Leuvenm, Belgium (2000-2005); and her Master of Music degree in Classical Singing from Conservatorium Gent (2010-2016), where she studied with Mireille Capelle and Hendrickje Van Kerckhove. She also attended master-classes with Lynn Fortin, Sara Mingardo and Gabrieli Micheli.
Mieke Van Uytvanck works as a music teacher at Muziekacademie Gent (since September 2008) and music therapist at Psychiatrisch Centrum Gent-Sleidinge (PCGS). She played Ms Grose in Benjamin Britten's Turn of the screw, Fortuna in Monterverdi's Il corronation di Poppea and both La Bergère and La Libellule in Ravel's L'enfant sortilège. She also performs as a soloist with Concertkoor Vox Mago (Director: Patrick Debrabandere). She currently lives in Gent, Belgium. |
