The English tenor, Andrew Tusa, completed his studies at the New College in Oxford and at the Pears-Britten School.
In 1989 Andrew Tusa sang at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London in The Play of Daniel, then at the English Bach Festival as Asterion in Naïs by Rameau. He became particularly acknowledged as a concert soloist. He sang in Messiah together with the Leicester Choir, in Krefeld in the Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) by J.S. Bach and in Milan. At the Salzburg Festival he appeared in 1990 as 2nd Hirt in Monteverdi’s Orfeo. He sang together with vocal groups and Baroque ensembles, in Oslo in the Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248) by of J.S. Bach, in London in the W.A. Mozart Year 1991 in Masses of this composer, with Birmingham Bach Society in J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244), in Stavanger in Norway again in the Messiah.
