The Hong Kong Chinese soprano, Law Tsz Ying, earned HER Bachelor of Music degree IN Voice Performance and Pedagogy from Hong Kong Baptist University with first class honours and Outstanding Award in 2012; and her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Royal Holloway, University of London under the tutelage of Elaine Pearce in 2015. She also achieved the LTCL Recital Diploma (Singing) with distinction in 2010 under the guidance of Chan Siu-kwan.
Law Tsz Ying was a Choral Scholar of The Choir of Royal Holloway, and performed as a soloist at St Martin-in-the-Fields, St Paul’s Cathedral (London), St George’s Bristol and Chapel Royal, Hampton Court Palace. She has participated in international tours, BBC radio and live TV broadcasts, and two recordings with Hyperion label. She has also performed for the Queen and other British Royal family members at the Buckingham Palace, Royal Albert Hall, and the Magna Carta 800th Anniversary in 2014-2015.
Law Tsz Ying was invited to perform in Hong Kong Arts Festival’s productions of Hong Kong Odyssey and Chan Hing-yan’s chamber opera Heart of Coral. Her sacred repertoire includes various J.S. Bach's cantatas and motets such as Christmas Oratorio (BWV 248) and St John Passion (BWV 245), George Frideric Handel’s Messiah, Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria, W.A. Mozart's Requiem, Mass in C and Coronation Mass, Haydn’s Creation, Johannes Brahms' German Requiem, Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, Camille Saint-Saëns' Oratorio de Noël, and Cecilia McDowall’s Magnificat.
Currently a full-time vocalist of Hong Kong SingFest, Law has sung under the baton of Helmuth Rilling, Yip Wing-sie, Stephen Coker and William Weinert. |
