The German choral conductor, Enrico Trummer, studied in Heidelberg music education, music, and German. Then he received a lectureship at the Hochschule für Musik Heidelberg for singing correpetition and worked in the field while studying choral conducting with Professor Gerald Kegelmann the masterpieces of choral literature. In addition, he participated in numerous concerts at home and abroad and radio broadcasts of the SDR as a pianist (also in piano duo with his wife), as well as a chamber musician and Lieder accompanist. Using a variety of choral ensembles, he won prizes in choral competitions Landesmusikrats Baden-Württemberg (1st prize in the choral competition "Jugend singt" 1992) and the Schwäbischen Sängerbunds (1st prize in 1988 with "Junger Chor Böblingen").
Enrico Trummer was appointed at the beginning of 1995 as the artistic director of the Stuttgarter Oratorienchor. In his main profession he is music pedagogue at the Königin-Katharina-Stift, Stuttgart, who has established school choirs and gives concerts regularly. His activities include an extensive oratorio and a cappella repertoire of different styles.
Thanks to his artistic and pedagogical experience, his enthusiasm for choral music and his tireless efforts, Enrico Trummer leads the Stuttgarter Oratorienchor repeatedly to excellence. His talent to explain and illustrate them in a musical and historical context, both as individual works and the musical phrases and sequences within these works makes the choir rehearsals further enriched.
With careful program design Trummer requires - in addition to maintaining the repertory works - special emphasis is always put on the cultural life of the state capital: Georg Philipp Telemann's Passion series (2005-2008), Haydn-cycle (2001-2006) and works from the Stuttgart Kapellmeister J.N. Hummel (starting 2008 with the Stuttgart premiere of the oratorio Der Durchzug durchs Rote Meer). |
