The Chancel Choir, a 60-voice adult choir conducted by Peter DuBois, is the cornerstone of Third Presbyterian Church music ministry, providing inspiring musical leadership for the worship each week. The choir rehearses weekly on Wednesday evenings during our program year, September through June, from 7:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. The Chancel Choir also sings several major works each year with orchestra, and presents special musical events such as choral evensong services, hymn festivals, and a biennial Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival.
Peter DuBois has led the Chancel Choir of Third Church on two very successful international tours, beginning with a trip in 2001 that included spending a week as Choir-in-Residence at Rochester Cathedral (Kent, UK), and performing as well at Coventry and Salisbury Cathedrals. They returned to the UK in the summer of 2005 for a week as Choir-in-Residence at London’s landmark St. Paul’s Cathedral, as well as performing concerts in Ely and Edinburgh, and a private workshop with noted composer Andrew Carter. |
