The German bass-baritone, Claus Temps, studied Law at the University of Göttingen (State Exam: 1977-1982). He completed his vocal training with Professor Peter Elkus in Hamburg/Freiburg.
Claus Temps worked at the City of Karlsruhe, Cultural Office for 32 years: Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts (October 1990-June 2015); Head of the Cultural Office (July 2015-May 2023). In May 2023, he was appointed Chaiman of the Freundeskreis of the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe.
Claus Temps's concert activities primarily include song creation and church music, both as a soloist and in an ensemble. He is particularly interested in thematic and musical-literary programs, which he often develops in collaboration with pianist Heike Bleckmann. He also works closely with the musicologist Dr. Joachim Draheim and the pianist Ira Maria Witoschynskyj. He is a member of the soloist ensemble Rastatter Hofkapelle.
Radio and CD recordings document his musical activity. He currently lives in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg. |
