The Romanian soprano, Alexandra Tarniceru, received her vocal training with Elena Botez at the Music School V. Brauner in Piatra Neamt and with Claudia Codreanu at the National University of Music in Bucharest. She was awarded numerous prizes in international competitions. In 2015, she won the 2nd prize at the Anneliese Rothenberger Competition.
Alexandra Tarniceru's repertoire includes opera roles like Contessa in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, Fiordiligi in W.A. Mozart's Così fan tutte, Micaëla in Georges Bizet's Carmen, Mimi in La bohème and Liu in Turandot and the solo parts in works such as J.S. Bach's St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244) and Magnificat (BWV 243), Haydn's Die Jahreszeiten and Die Schöpfung, in the Requiems of W.A. Mozart, Verdi, Gabriel Fauré and Johannes Brahms, as well as Rossini's Stabat Mater. She has performed on many stages of her homeland as well as in Austria, Greece and Germany. Since the 2013-2014 season she is a member of the International Opera Studio and has already performed in Zürich roles as as Maid in Jenůfa, Mascha in Pique Dame, Giulietta in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, 1st Lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos, as well as in Die Frau ohne Schatten, Elektra and Fälle by Oscar Strasnoy. |
