Szczawnicki Chór Kameralny (Szczawnica Chamber Choir) was formed in 2006 by. Agnieszka Żarska The main focus of the choir is the practice of choir traditions at their best and their promotion in the most diverse ways. Szczawnicki Chór Kameralny realizes original artistic-educational projects. The main project is “Szczawnica 1973-musica discoveries”, witch juxtaposes the traditional melodies of religious songs of highlanders with the metamorphosis it underwent in the creative mind of the contemporary polish composers of choral music. Szczawnicki Chór Kameralny invited to join in the project several distinguished contemporary Polish composers. The melodies, which were taped and transcribed, were sent to the artists in order to inspire them in the process of creating the multiple choral compositions. On one CD you can find original songs recorded in 1973 and the new miniaturas a cappella created especially for Szczawnicki Chór Kameralny.
In 2010 Szczawnicki Chór Kameralny realized a project of twenty concertos with orgel in churches of Malopolska Region. The repertoire included songs a cappella contemporary music and sacred music with organ accompaniment.for example pieces of Edward Elgar, Felix Mendelssohn, W.A. Mozart, J.S. Bach, etc.
Szczawnicki Chór Kameralny cooperates with famous artist from variety European countries. In 2011, with the orchestra Musica Aeterna Bratislava (Director: Peter Zajíček) and the Hungarian tenor Zoltán Megyesi Szczawnicki Chór Kameralny realized prestigious project: “ Musica Festiva -Baroque Explorations." This international project , which gave the possibility of exploring the issues stylish Baroque music performance, proved to be very successful. Both teams decided to continue and develop cooperation. The program included works by M.A. Charpentier, J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel and Samuel Capricornius - performance certainly in Poland for the first time. |
