The Südfunk-Chor Stuttgart that was founded in 1946 for studio productions of the SWR radio to reinstate repertoire for the archives that were lost during the war, it is one of the five choirs affiliated with the German radio and television organisation ARD (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland). The more specialized SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgasrt later evolved from it. |
