Renee Stupfel (Soprano)

Born: North Bend, Oregon, USA

The American soprano, Renee Stupfel, was born and raised in North Bend, Oregon with her older brother Andrew, by her parents Michael and Sabrina. She has been singing since she could talk, and sang her first public solo when she was just 5 years old. (It was “Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer.”). She holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, and her Master of Music in Voice Performance from Loyola University New Orleans (2011).

Renee Stupfel teaches private voice lessons at Hahnville High School, and group voice lessons at RK Smith Middle School; she also sings with the New Orleans Opera Chorus. She was also lucky enough to spend a month in Salzburg, Austria this past summer (2013?) singing a role with the Austrian American Mozart Academy. In February 2012, she joibed the staff of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Metairie, Louisiana as Director of Music.

While music is obviously a very large part of her life, that’s not all Renee Stupfel likes to do. She loves the outdoors and grew up fishing, crabbing, and clamming with her family, and was also an avid volleyball player. Moving to New Orleans is one of the greatest decisions she has ever made and she loves being a part of this city.
