The German choral conductor and organist, Marcus Strümpe, From 1988 he studied Protestant church music at the Folkwang-Hochschule Essen (organ with Professor Gerd Zacher, choral conducting with Professor Ralf Otto). From 1990 to 1993 he worked as assistant with Professor Ralf Otto on "preparation and organisation" program. In 1993, he passed his A-exam. This was followed by attending master-classes with Harald Vogel, Ewald Kooiman, Jon Laukvik and Michael Radulescu. From April 1994, he studied organ-building with Professor Christoph Bossert at the Musikhochschule in Trossingen.
In May 1994, Marcus Strümpe became Kantor and organist at the Pauluskirche in Duisburg-Hochfeld. In this post he performed many concerts with the Kantorei der Pauluskirche Duisburg-Hochfeld. Since 1996 he is also conductor of the Musikverein e.V Homberg, to which he added, since 2003 the Philharmonischen Chor Duisburg e.V. (formerly Städtischer Konzertchor Duisburg).
Marcus Strümpe plays as a guest organist in important churches in Germany, such as Stiftskirche Stuttgart, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche Berlin, Dom zu Erfurt, etc. With his choirs, he has performed works of the core repertoire; also increasingly choral-symphonic works of Romanticism and early modernism, as well as secular literature.
On April 15, 2007, Marcus Strümpe left his post as Kantor at the Pauluskirche. One day later, he joined the Protestant community Alt-Duisburg with his new job as Kantor at the Salvatorkirche. |
