The Austrian soprano, Christina Stegmaier-Andersson, studied at the University of Music and performing Arts in Vienna (Master of Arts degree: 2000-2008) and at the Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory in Graz. She passed her Studies in Vienna in 2008 with distinction. After her graduation, she sung in master-classes with Emma Kirkby and Deborah York.
In the last years Christina Stegmaier has performed as a soloist all over Europe with various groups and conductors such as Il Concerto Viennese, Ensemble Fioretto, Vienna Bachsolists, Le Cercle de L'Harmonie, Capella Leopoldina, Ensemble Baroque de Limoges (Director: Christophe Coin) and L'Ensemble Orchestre de Basse Normandie, Jérémie Rhorer, Christophe Coin, Michi Gaigg, Martin Haselböck and the Wiener Akademie.
Christina Stegmaier also appears as an ensemble singer with the Amsterdam Baroque Choir (since 2013; Director: Ton Koopman), Collegium Vocale Gent (since 2013; Director: Philippe Herreweghe), Vocalconsort Berlin (since 2014) as well as with the Vokalakademie Berlin (since 2012). With the Vokalensemble 15.21 she has also given notable performances in the Vienna Konzerthaus and at the International Barocktage in Melk.
Christina Stegmaier has been invited as a soloist to festivals like the Folle Journée-Festival in Nantes (France), at the Toulouse les Orgues Festival (France), Musikfest Bremen, Klara Festival in Brüssel (Belgium), Osterfestival Innsbruck, Osterfestival Psalm, Osterklang Wien, BACH XXI in Graz, Internationales Orgelfest Stift Zwettl and the Festival Styriarte.
Christina Stegmaier's repertoire ranges from early madrigals und motets to oratories and cantatas by J.S. Bach, and Baroque opera (for example Belinda in Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Amore in Danfe in Lauro, Orfeo e Euridice by Johann Joseph Fux - in 2010, Amore in Orfeo e Euridice by Ch.W. Gluck in 2014, as well as the title role in Alcina by George Frideric Handel - in 2012 ). |
