The Dutch soprano, Jitske Steendam, received her training at the Utrecht Conservatorium. She concluded her singing studies with the award of the Prix D'Excellence. She was majoring in solo singing teacher at the Conservatorium in Groningen.
Since then, Jitske Steendam operates as a much sought-after soprano soloist in oratorio, opera and orchestral performances. Even in song-recitals with piano or organ accompaniment she gives expression to her versatile singing. Except in the Netherlands she is also active in France, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland. She is a member of the ZAP trio with the pianist Wilma Bougenon and the violinist Maaike Ten
