The German soprano, Britta Stallmeister, had her first singing lessons during her school years. She then devoted herself to the study of musicology, finally opting for singing studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover under Professor Carl-Heinz Müller. During this period she was already making frequent appearances in concert and Lieder recitals.
A guest engagement took Britta Stallmeister to the Bremerhaven Stadttheater, and in the summer of 1997 she was chosen for the title role in E.T.A. Hoffmann’s Undine, in association with the Schloss Rheinsberg chamber opera festival for the development of young opera singers. In the same year she was awarded first prize.
At present (2001), Britta Stallmeister is a member of the permanent ensemble of the Städtischen Bühne in Frankfurt. There she sings all the lyrical roles, which fall, within her range. Song recitals, oratorios and concerts have taken her to concert halls at home and abroad. |
