St.-Marien-Kantorei, Uelzen (Choir) |
Founded: 1951 - Uelzen, Lower Saxony, Germany, |
The St. Marien-Kantorei is a supramunicipal choir, in which about 95 active singers aged 11 to 70 years participate. In the weekly choir rehearsals oratorio works of Baroque, Classical and Romantic and contemporary works are rehearsed. The choral voice is an important part of the rehearsals for shaping the choir sound and the choir members get voice, body posture and ear training.
In addition to the oratorio works the choir performs a-cappella choral music from all eras during a scared service at St.-Marien-Kirche or in concerts. The oratorio and cantata performances with the worship choir are financially supported by the Förderkreis Kirchenmusik St. Marien e.V. The choir is directed by Erik Matz. |
