The German baritone, Bernhard Spingler, studied at the Music College ‘Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium’ Stuttgart from 1973 to 1982, and was a member of the Stuttgarter Hymnus-Chorknaben from 1974 to 1982. Until 1987 he studied economics at the University Stuttgart-Hohenheim; from 1988 to 1990 he studied Vocal Performance at the University for Music and Theatre, Hannover; and from 1992 he had Certificate and Advanced Studies at the Folkwang-University Essen. In 1992 he was guest-student at the Musik University Cologne in the Lied-class of Hartmut Höll. From 1991 to 1993 he also particpated in master-classes with Aldo Baldin, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Tom Krause. He was a Prize-Winner of national German and international voice-competitons, among others at the International Coloratura-singing Competition 1992 in Stuttgart.
From 1991 to 1999 Bernhard Spingler was engaged as Resident Member at the German Opera at the Rhine Düsseldorf / Duisburg, Statetheatre Kassel, Statetheatre at the Gärtnerplatz Munich, Wuppertal stages. In 1995 he made his debut as Heerrufer in Lohengrin; in 1998 as Ford in Falstaff; and as Olivier in Capriccio by R. Strauss under the direction of August Everding at the Prinzregententheatre Munich; in 2000 he appeared in the title role in Jakob Lenz by Wolfgang Rihm. He appeared as an opera guest at Aalto theatre Essen, Badisches Statetheatre Karlsruhe, German Opera at the Rhine Düsseldorf, Fondazione Arena di Verona / Italy, Grand Thèatre de Genéve / Switzerland, International Operafestival St. Moritz / Switzerland, Musicfestival Bremen, Opera Cologne, Opera Royal de Wallonie Liége / Belgium, Pfalztheatre Kaiserslautern, Statetheatre at the Gärtnerplatz Munich, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari / Italien, Theatre Lübeck, Theatre Ulm, Wuppertal stages.
