The German organist, conductor and church musician, Jürgen Sonnentheil, studied church music in Bayreuth and Cologne. He concluded his studies with the organ concert exam in Düsseldorf.
Jürgen Sonnentheil is a church musician at St. Petri in Cuxhaven, where he founded the Bach Festival and the ensemble Das Neu-Eröffnete Orchestre. He published numerous sound recordings as an organist. His performances as conductor and organist have been heard on Hessischen Rundfunk, Bayrischen Rundfunk, Westdeutschen Rundfunk and Radio Bremen. A particular focus of his recordings are the early music (especially Jan Dismas Zelenka) and the works of the American composer Wilhelm Middelschulte. |
