The Polish bass-baritone, Jaroslaw Sielicki, studied singing at the University for Music in Krakow. Afterwards he studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart with Professor Bruce Abel, finishing with honour.
Jaroslaw Sielicki made his debut in 1998 as Figaro in Le Nozze de Figaro in Detmold. In the same season he became a member of the ensemble of the Opera Krakow, where he sang roles as Zuniga in Carmen, Sprecher in Zauberflöte, Schaunard in La Bohème, Lorenzo in Capuletti e i Montecchi and Angelotti in Tosca.
Since 2000-2001 season, Jaroslaw Sielicki is a member of Theater Aachen. Here he has sung Bartolo and Figaro in Le Nozze de Figaro and the Gefängnisdirektor Frank in Fledermaus, Papageno in Zauberflöte, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte and Kaspar in Der Freischütz, and Escamillo in Carmen. Since then guest appearances have led him, among other things, to Bonner Oper, Stadttheater Giessen and Theater Oldenburg.
In addition Jaroslaw Sielicki is active as concert and oratorio singer. His repertoire includes works as: J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245), Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244), Magnificat (BWV 243), and Mass in B minor (BWV 232), as well as Haydn's Die Schöpfung, George Frideric Handel's Messias, Mozart's and Gabriel Fauré's Requiem and L.v. Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. |
