The Japanese soprano, Kozue Shimizu [Japanese: 清水 梢/ソプラノ], graduated from the Department of Voice, Tokyo University of the Arts, where she received the Reunion Award at the time of graduation. She has studied vocal music with Yoko Oshima and Hiroki Miyama, and Kogaku vocal music with Misato Suzuki.
In addition to performing at operas and numerous concerts, Kozue Shimizu recently worked on a wide range of works from Baroque to modern, and has been particularly active as a soloist for sacred songs. She is also a member of Bach Collegium Japan (Director: Masaaki Suzuki) and participates in performances and CD recordings in Japan and overseas. Especially in 2018, she performed as a boy soloist at the Felix Mendelssohn "Area" performance at the Leipzig Gewandhaus, and was well received. In addition, she performs beyond classical music at cafes and restaurants mainly in Yokohama and Tokyo. She has a reputation as a choir coach and voice trainer.She is a member of the Yokohama Music Association and a member of the Yokohama Civic Hall Concert. |
