The English bass, Brindley Sherratt, studied trumpet and singing at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was awarded the Mario Grisi, Robert Radford and Gilbert Betjamin prizes for opera and recital singing.
Brindley Sherratt's operatic roles include his WNO début as Leporello Don Giovanni; Gremin Evgeny Onegin for Grange Park Opera; Colline La Bohème and Sprecher Die Zauberflöte for Wexford International Opera Festival; Salieri in David Owen Norris’ comic opera Die Zabaglione; roles elsewhere include Superintendent Budd Albert Herring, Gremin Evgeny Onegin, Seneca L’incoronazione di Poppea and Frank Maurrant Street Scene.

Stravinsky's Les Noces in Paris with Pierre Boulez and the Ensemble Intercontemporain, I. Stravinsky's Canticum Sacrum in Paris with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Luigi Dallapiccola's opera Il Prigioniero in Turin, G.F. Handel's Messiah and Texeira Te Deum with Harry Christophers in Hong Kong, J.S. Bach's St John Passion (BWV 245) with Trevor Pinnock in London and Lucerne. His many broadcasts for radio include W.A. Mozart's C Minor Mass, Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle, Panufnik Winter Solstice and I. Stravinsky's Canticum Sacrum.
