The American choral conductor and music pedagogue, David L. Sharlow, obtained his Bachelors degree in Music Education from Friends University; and his Masters degree in Music Education from Wichita State University. He then enjoyed 12 years as a high school vocal music teacher; most notably in the Wichita, Kansas He received his Ph.D in Music Education and Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Missouri Kansas City.
David Sharlow was Interim Director of Choral Activities at the University of South Dakota, in Vermillion and Assistant Professor of Music Education at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. Je now serves as Interim Department Chair - Director of Choral Activities at Missouri Southern State University. His research revolves around the psychological, sociological, and anthropological aspects of the music ensemble - specifically focusing on the value of individual achievement and motivation within the confines of an ensemble. |
