The German baritone and conductor, Christoph Schweizer, spent his childhood and youth in Gerlingen, and completed the Abitur at a Musikgymnasium in Stuttgart (2006-2008). He then studied music education with the main subject of viola in addition to jazz / popular music at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen. After successfully completing the first state examination (with distinction), he completed his artistic studies with Bachelor of Music degree in Singing under Professor Andreas Reibenspies and Master of Music degree in Conducting under Professor Michael Alber (2009-2015)). Since 2014 he has been a scholarship holder of the Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung (subjects conducting and singing). He attended several master-classes, among others with Professor Rudolf Piernay (London / Mannheim), Professor Klesie Kelly (Cologne), Margreet Honig (Stuttgart) and Professor Olaf Bär (Dresden), which helped him broadening his singing repertoire.
Christoph Schweizer is in demand as a soloist in concert, Lieder and free opera productions and has already worked with conductors such as Rainer Johannes Homburg. He has participated in professional CD recordings, for example, J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) with the Stuttgarter Hymnus-Chorknaben. He is a freelance collaborator of the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart (since 2015) and Orpheus Vokalensemble. In addition he has beeb conductor of MGV 1825 Ludwigsburg (2012-2016) and Chorvereinigung Ludwigsburg (2014-2016). He currently lives in Stutrgart, Germany. |
