The French tenor, Marc Schweitzer, studied lyrical singing and obtained his first singing prize (DEM) in the class of Jean-Louis Dumoulin at the National School of Music in Pantin. He participated in numerous workshops and specialized master-classes and trained in singing pedagogy with Ronald Klekamp.
Marc Schweitzer was a member of several vocal ensembles and soloist in early music programs and oratorios by W.A. Mozart, Schubert, Charles Gounod, Felix Mendelssohn, Rossini. He was notably the Evangelist in J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion BWV 245.
On the stage, Marc Schweitzer approached the roles of tenor in various operettas, comic operas or operas, including: Louis Varney's Les Mousquetaires au Couvent, Charles Lecocq's La fille de Madame Angot, Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow, Jacques Offenbach's La Périchole, but also in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, (Basilio, 2011), Jacques Offenbach's La Belle Hélène (Ménélas), Gioachino Rossini's L'italiana in Algeri (Lindoro), W.A. Mozart's Il Re Pastore (Alexander), Seven Deadly Sins and The Three Penny Opera by Kurt Weil.
Marc Schweitzer is currently collaborating with the instrumental and vocal ensemble Zoroastre, directed by Savitri de Rochefort. |
