The German soprano, Silke Schwarz, at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg with Beata Heuer-Christen, Gerd Heinz (scene) and Hans-Peter Müller (Lied). She received the 1997 "Bruno-Frey-Preis" of the Landesakademie für musizierende Jugend and was a prize-winner in Bundeswettbewerb Gesang B des VDMK in autumn 2000 in Berlin. She won the first place both at the Paula-Salomon-Lindberg-Wettbewerb für zeitgenössisches und romantisches Lied (2001) and the Mozartfestwettbewerbs in Würzburg (2002). At the 52nd ARD-Wettbewerb she won the Prize of the Theodor-Rogler-Stiftung, and a year later she was winner of the 53rd ARD-Wettbewerb. At the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang 2004 des VDMK in Berlin she won 2nd Prize in the concert / Lied. She also won the special prize of the Opera Monte Carlo at the Belvedere Wettbewerb (2005) in Vienna. The Freiburger Hochschule für Musik awarded her the "Gustav-Scheck-Preis" of Commerzbank-Stiftung. Silke Schwarz was a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes und Preisträgerin des Europäischen Kulturförderpreises.
As a concert and Lieder singer, Silke Schwarz has performed as a guest at international festivals, such as Händelfestspiele in Halle, Brahmstage Baden-Baden, Mozartfest Würzburg, Rheingau-Musikfestival, Schleswig-Holstein-Musikfestival, as well as in Japan, Poland, Russia, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and Turkey.
Silke Schwarz sang several premieres, including by Jörn Arnecke and Charlotte Seither. She created the title role in Mozart's Zaide in a co-production between the Musikhochschule and the Theater Freiburg. At the Stadttheater Bern she made her debut as Irina in Péter Eötvös' opera Drei Schwestern. At the Schlossfestspielen in Aschaffenburg, she made her debut as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte.
Since the 2005-2006 season Silke Schwarz is an ensemble member at the Theater Heidelberg. She has been heard there, among other things, as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Asprano in Antonio Vivaldi’s Motezuma, Rosina in Rossini’s Barbier von Sevilla, Musetta and Mimi in La Bohème, Ilia in Idomeneo, Nedda in Pagliacci, Rosario in Goyescas, Adina in Elisir d’amore, Empress of China in Ai-En, Gilda in Rigoletto and as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte. In the 2009-2010 season she sang Pamina in Zauberflöte and Gilda in Rigoletto. In the 2010-2011 season her performances include Eurydice in Orpheus In Der Unterwelt, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Desdemona in Otello and Ellida in the premiere of Vom Meer. For her opera performances she was nominated for the third year in a row as "Young Singer of the Year" by the magazine Opernwelt.
Her radio and CD productions include, among other things, W.A. Mozart’s Exsultate jubilate, Gustav Mahler’s 4th Symphony, Josef Rheinberger's Vom goldenen Horn and polyphonic songs of Franz Schubert. |
