The German lyric tenor, Holger Schumacher, studied singing at the Akademie für Tonkunst Darmstadt with the completion of the artistic maturity (KA). He attended master-classes with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, in the framework of the International Bach-Akademie in Stuttgart with Kurt Equiluz and Scot Weir, as well as at the European Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Montepulciano with Monica Pick-Hieronimi.

Opera engagements have led Holger Schumacher to the Opernfestspielen Bad Hersfeld, the Mozart Festival in Zweibrücken, the Opern-Air-Festival Nürtingen and the Karlsruher Schlosskonzerten, among others. A significant part of his activities is devoted to Lieder singing. He has appeared as a guest at the Internationalen Bodensee-Festival, Musiksommer Schloss Rastatt and the Roggenburger Sommer, etc. In 2007 he appeared with a recital of Lieder and arias from the Baroque to Romanticism. |
