Kees Schul (Piano, Harpsichord)

Born: 1956 - Oostzaan, North Holland, the Netherlands

The Dutch pianist and harpsichordist, Kees Schul, decided to dedicate himself to the piano after obtaining his Master's degree in physics. He studied with Jan Wijn at the Sweelinck Conservatory and with Aloys Kontarsky in Cologne.

Kees Schul performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist of vocalists such as soprano Suze van Grootel, with whom he has been a regular duo for years. He has done a great amount of work of work for the Dutch radio orchestras, the Residentie Orkest Den Haag and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a regular pianist for the salon ensemble Capriccio.

As a conductor, Kees Schul directed numerous operetta performances. He was responsible for the world premiere of Charles Morrow's The Book of Hours for the VPRO radio, and O Nederlanden (Oh Netherlands' by Willem Wander van Nieuwerk, on the occasion of the commemoration of the Münster peace.
