The Dutch bass, choral conductor and singing teacher, Joost Schouten, was born to a musical family. His parents brought him into contact with many species, mainly classical music, at a young age. Both parents sang in different choirs and ensembles, and his father worked as a choir conductor for a long time. Joost started at the secondary school with composing, especially cabaret, songs. Soon he found his true fascination in singing: the music that is next to him.
Joost Schouten has been conductor of two choirs Koor de Stemming and Koor Convivium) for almost twenty years, who have grown together with him in their musicality. He has also been working as a singing teacher since the age of twenty with people of all levels and all kinds of musical styles. Here the classic tradition is always the starting point. |
