The Schorndorfer Kantorei is a mixed choir of more than 150 members, aged from approximately 15 to 80 years.
About 2/3 of them participate are regularly in the weekly rehearsals at the Martin-Luther-Haus.
The duties of the choir are in the church: singing at church services and at special holidays, singing in hospitals and at the Pauluskirche.
There are at least twice a year, concerts with major works such as oratorios on the programme. Highlights of past years were concerts with orchestras such as J.S. Bach's Matthäus-Passion BWV 244 (2003), Frank Martin's Golgotha (2002), Carl Orff's Carmina Burana (2001), Mozart's Requiem in D minor (2000), Georg Philipp Telemann's Lukas-Passion (1999) Haydn's Schöpfung (1998), J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor BWV 232 (2006), Felix Mendelssohn's Elias (2008). |
